I roasted a goose for New Year's Day dinner using Gordon Ramsy's christmas goose recipe and all it's accompaniments. The red date & wine sauce was great with the goose, as were the XO apples. Now Irene has to clean the oven coz the goose was too big for the oven. Dripping it's luscious fat all over. That's my sister carving the goose. Next time, we are going to get the roast meat stall guy to do it for us.
Irene has also perfected the mashed potatoes recipe. It's so soft, fluffy and smooth. I stirred in the sour cream and chives as we ran out of milk and cream. Tastes just as good.
