Tiong Bahru Plaza

Soo glad this old shopping centre got a facelift, it is open for business now even though renovations are due to be completed by the end of 2016. Right now its connected to the MRT and the older HDB shops across the road.

It's concept of Old and New together comes through most obviously in the food court that has comfy chairs in the front and old style tiles on the floor. Don't forget to try the Korean food and Gangnam Bingsu.

B1 houses Fair Price Finest Supermarket (Culina).

The Golden Village Cinema features new automated ticketing and turnstile check-in. The refreshments stand carries novelty cups to match the movies currently showing and offers a lot more options than just plain popcorn.

Small arcade outside the cinema.

Simply Wraps / Boost Juice

Basement 4 Ion Orchard is where the food court is located, its also where you can find sandwich/salad/smoothies takeaway.

Simply Wraps offers d-i-y or chef's creations in the form of salads or wraps.

The wraps are bursting with veges and almost impossible to consume without a fork. No wonder everyone gets the salad option instead. I brought one home and divided it into salad starters for 3, its that much.

Boost Smoothies & Juices

I got my fave Wondermelon slushie.

And another : Soraya's Fave that is a green vege mix, really sweet & honeyed.

You can add nutrient boosters if you like.

Ang Mo Kio Hub

The new HDB hubs all look like this, integrated MRT, Bus Interchange and Shopping Centre. It's all indoors and air-conditioned. Its ok even if it starts raining.

I like how close the food takeaways are to the bus Q.

This Choco Express has Reese peanut butter & chocolate peanut butter spreads. I bought 1.

Cheaper drinks and snacks available on the bus interchange side.

Level 4 : Cinema
Level 3 : Tuition Centres and Food Court
Level 2 : Restaurants, Beauty Salons, Shops
Level 1 : Cafes and Takeaways
B1 : DBS and Shops
B2 : Fair Price Xtra and Central Forum

Lots of kiddy rides around the mall, really kid-friendly.

I bought a 6 pack Ribena Sparkling from Fair Price Xtra, this place is massive!

UE Square

Collecting my prize @ Kao Laurier office in UE Square. UE Square is located near Robertson Walk and its ground floor is filled with trendy restaurants and bars frequented by expats (given the number of service apartments in the area).

This is what the inside of the shopping center looks like. Small cafes and pushcarts dominate the foyer catering to the office crowd in the daytime.

There is Cold Storage and Guardian Pharmacy on the 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is filled with kids learning centers. So you know this really services the expatriate families living in the area.

Bought some cheeses from Cold Storage coz we're out of it at home. So far we like the really mild ones like brie and cheddar. Trying out this goat cheese with chargrilled vegetables like the panini sandwich I had @ Ku De Ta.

Having lunch at Delifrance, the coffee is really generous in size. Also got a box of orange macarons for dessert, with buttercream and choc piping on top.

Check out the seating space @ 7-11, first time I have seen this. Picked up some of that new Tao Ti tea and lemon lime shaving cream (travel size) for dad.

Godiva Chocolate Bar

Godiva chocolate bar and I simply cannot pass up on a sweet treat...torn between milkshake or ice cream (both $9), in the end I got the mix ice-cream. It's soo yummy with strawberry sauce and nutty crunch on the cone, a little expensive tho'.

The promotion now is buy minimum $35 to get a charm for your Godiva charm bracelet.

IMAX 3D movies

IMAX 3D movies are an event in itself, totally worth the $22 ticket price everytime. All movie genres are screened in IMAX 3D and this time I am here to watch Finding Dory. Kiddo shows are not too scary and I think I need to work my way up to watching Ghost Busters in 3D next week.

There is a promotion this month where if you buy tickets to three IMAX 3D movies, you can win movie premiums or the grand prize - a trip to LA.

When you enter, grab a pair of 3D glasses at the door. Same thing when you exit, leave the 3D glasses at the bin.

Hello Kitty Cafe

Hello Kitty Garden Cafe @ Changi Airport is open 24hrs, the Q to get in is still an hour long regardless of when you visit.

The gift shop with specialty items like garden tea blends, postcards etc.

I ordered something light as this is supper (after dinner).

Prawn & wasabi quesadillas, violette soda pop, cheesecake ice-cream.

If the Q is too long, just get a slice of cake or ice cream from the gift shop instead. I should have done that earlier.
