My Night Out Alone

Dinner at 313Somerset, only the direction signs from the MRT are all wrong. Better to surface to ground level before attempting to find the places mentioned below.

Dinner @ Sushi Express, every plate on the conveyer belt is only $1.50! Free green tea and preserved ginger too. Only problem is the chairs are meant for skinny people, mine buckled under my weight and the waiter had to get me the chair from the cashier.

$1.50 for mochi, I tried all the seasonal flavors. The bean paste inside is mixed with cream so its really soft and fluffy.

I stopped by Yole and considered a soft serve, which I didn't get. Instead, I saw Wow Tako and bought 2 family packs of TakoYaki to bring home for supper.

Browsed through a few stores including Love,Bonito the famous Singapore blogshop now has an actual shop space. This whole shopping center is really quiet with only a few customers around.

Tons of moissonite (diamond simulant) stores. Sometimes you can find real gemstones and pearls.

Stopped @ a Korean dessert place for their Parisian styled fruit parfaits. Cherry is out of season so I got Korean Strawberries that I saw @ Dondonki earlier. The strawberries are a bit sour but with the sugar, cream and granita it tastes as incredible as it looks.

Love the K-pop music and painting sessions that go with the drinks and desserts.

Hawker Center Food Delivery

Foodpanda allows home delivery from nearby hawker stalls, a service that was not available before @ just $3.50 sgd for the convenience.

Yong Ji Dim Sum for tea-time, I ordered my favorite freshly made chee cheong fun 虾猪肠粉. There is also steamed pork ribs 排骨, pan fried carrot cake 胡萝卜蛋糕, siew mai 烧卖 & har kaw 虾饺. Total amount $13.30 sgd.

Huat Heng fried oyster omelette, Chuan Kee Fried Kway Teow, Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee, all in the same order and delivered together. No complaints about the service but I have complaints about the food quality. HH is too salty, CK hair inside the food, S I ordered bak kut teh big prawn noodle and what got delivered is hokkien prawn noodle instead.

If all else fails, there is still cup noodles. Nissin Tom Yum coz I think the soup is just right, not too sour.

Shamiana Indian Restaurant

This Indian restaurant is located near ChompChomp @ Serangoon Gardens. The bundle meals are all family sized so I ordered the street food snacks instead.

Pani & Dahi Puri, little shells filled with mint water & different dals.

Koliwada Squid or calamari with indian spices. Its not crispy batter like you would expect but a thick & dense batter that is the same texture as the squid rings.

Vegetable Samosas that are always much bigger in the restaurants, its the 3D version instead of flat parcels. Red & green sauce of mint, coriander and sweet chili.

Rasmalai dessert is served piping hot with deliciously flavored cream. The Marsala tea here is very light and fruity, not what I was expecting.

Because of the $10 cashback from the first order, I made another order for Shamiana Indian snack foods. The fruit juice is really fresh and bright, wouldn't mind putting in another order just for that.

Fries in tomato/chili/spices and Chicken 65 again, all meat no tendons or bones. Kheema Naan or mutton stuffed paratha bread. Its got a nice light flavor so you can taste the paratha.

Ameeda's Indian Muslim Food

This eatery is one of Panda's Picks so I am expecting it to be good, its more like pasar malam indian food with home delivery. I ordered a full meal of Kambing (mutton bone) soup, Kway Teow Goreng Seafood and Fried Chicken 65.

Kway teow goreng is not that common and its a bit like dry char kway teow you get for breakfast at the market.

The Kambing soup doesn't have any bones in it, I find it a little oily but after I left it in the fridge overnight and removed the layer of oil on top, its actually really good soup.

The Chicken 65 is all meat only dressed with slices of raw onion, as opposed to tendons and bones that is the usual case @ pasar malams. The portion is a little small, like a side dish for $4.

Brown Sugar Bubble Tea from iTea with additional red bean filling inside. This brown sugar trend has brought me back to drinking bubble tea.

Oasis Taiwan Porridge - Takeaway

Oasis Taiwan Porridge is located at Toa Payoh Town Park, I ordered takeaway this time around and didn't check the items, the herbal jelly turned out as barley drinks instead, but everything is nicely packed so it doesn't spill.

Oysters with Black Bean Sauce, Salted Egg Sotong, Pickled Jellyfish. They make their own century eggs here, one for $1.60 sgd.

Local style desserts from Koufu foodcourt @ Toa Payoh Central. Ice Kachang, Ice Jelly, Almond Beancurd, Tapioca with Coconut milk.
