Citigems

Citigems is one of those affordable jewellery chain stores that sell coloured gems, diamonds and more recently gold. You can walk away with a coloured gem cocktail ring for less than S$1k and the diamonds are of a lower grade and usually clustered together to create a big carat look.

This is the only jewellery chain store I know that also sells crystal and stainless steel accessories. And that is what I purchased today, black mesh chains filled with white crystals. I actually saw this design at MoMA before and didn't get it then. So I am absolutely glad to see this here and didn't miss out on the opportunity to get a set for myself.

Dinner with Connie

This girl told me she was in Singapore for work and we were to catch up over a mid-week dinner. I was at the sushi place for almost an hour...the horror....hehehe.....

She finally turned up and we decided to eat at Old HK instead coz she misses cantonese food.

Some quick shopping at a supermarket to stock up on spices just before they pulled the shutters for the day.

It was nice to see you again girl, call me again next time you are in Singapore.

Faux Fur Yarns

I always thought fur (faux fur included) was a little dated. However, its still stocked in stores and people still buy it. It looks great as a trim on throws and here are some updated looks knitters are churning out. Faux fur is usually polyester or something like that, making it machine washable.

That pure fur yarn beanie is looking good. To wear it, a mini shrug doesn't commit too much and vests make cute layered pieces. Of course, you can fall back on making the usual shawl or throw with it.

Fur yarn can also be turned into accents on knitted accessories for that extra pizazz. Loving that cute giant pom pom. Also used to trim gloves and shawls, to little pops of fur in between a knitted scarf for a fashionable look.

You can find these couture finds on Etsy fairly often, mixing knits and crochet with fur.

Grey Lace Mesh Scarf

Mesh yarns don't just come in fishnet or geometric shapes, I am soo happy to find this crochet lace mesh so now I can make my own victorian-inspired pieces. The yarn label says 1 skein but I really used 4 skeins for this scarf.

I left 1 mesh section in-between pegs to create flounce and using the knit then purl pattern to create a double-sided scarf. This pattern also leaves more space between each ruffle to showcase the beautiful crochet mesh.

To create those fishtail/ribbon ends, I left 2 mesh sections between each peg for the first 5 rows and the last 5 rows.

Moschino S/S 2013 Fashion

Moschino doesn't disappoint, every season it comes up with something fun & quirky but totally wearable. This season is black & white lady-like suits and loud prints.

The menswear features kitschy prints all well made and tailored of course.

Some milder prints and colour combinations that most guys will actually be buying. The look is still very young.

Scotch Premium Kitchen Scissors (detachable)

Scotch premium kitchen scissors that also comes in a detachable version for more thorough cleaning. I really like the fact that it comes apart for cleaning after use. This feature doesn't affect the sturdiness or sharpness of this kitchen tool that costs less than S$20.

This handy kitchen tool can be used in place of a knife, cutting up meat or vegetables with ease. It also doubles as a cap opener.
