Did a little exploration around this small enclave of shops at Holland Village for Asian bric brac and then dinner at one of the many restaurants. Didn't even have time to stop for bubble tea. This place doesn't disappoint when you are looking for unique Asian furnishings and I always find something new that I really like. Today it's Japanese greeting cards, photo books and a bone china orchid vase.

Barpazza
Lunch at Barpazza under a nice cool air-conditioner with my favourite comfort food - Italian.
Mini plump mackeral and a Thai inspired pasta carbonara...love, love
All my favourite desserts combined into 1. Fresh vanilla bean ice-cream, baked apples and chocolate cake.

RedDot Brewery
Just look for the red balloon bobbing about on Boat Quay. After-work drinks with my colleagues that turned into dinner coz the chow is soo good, we just kept ordering. My seasonal beer was surprisingly floral & fruity, not bad. But, definitely go for the wings.

Lush in Singapore
Since Lush moved out of Singapore, I had to resort to the occasional holiday abroad to obtain it's handmade toiletries. Not anymore, now that I have found a shop that carries Lush pre-packaged items conveniently tagged with expiration date, country of origin and staffer who made it. So you get international variety at your doorstep, well at least just a cab ride away.
I got giddy and spent almost $200 on their bath bombs (made in Japan), Sonic Death Monkey body wash (made in Australia), Too Drunk...emotibombs (made in HK), a slice of Porridge soap and a Celebrate pack for my nephew's impending birthday. They even give free samples like the real store.
Loving the emotibombs! It's my first time using it and I recommend it to everyone. Not common for someone to have a spa bathtub, but, everyone has a shower at home. A great pick-me-up for that hangover or flu.
Buy from Summerloft at Holland Road Shopping Centre #02-05

Chinese Bento 菜饭
This is what the entire working population in Singapore eats, mixed rice or 菜饭. It's sold like a buffet line where you pick meat and vegetables for your rice. Always have the marmite sesame chicken if they have it.

Peddar Sale
This is the Peddar Warehouse Sale, so you know it's good.
I asked the sales assistant for US size 8 slippers and he replied "Excuze me... we only carry 39 to 42 here, read the sign" - Isn't US 8 a EUR 39? To which I almost flung the slipper at his head. So I tried his colleague who wasn't much better by refusing to check the sizes as "everything is on the table" that obviously wasn't the case as I asked for the other side of the slipper and she handed me a box with a different size. What to do? With prices this low I didn't mind.
