Aoba Ramen

Hokkaido ramen as it should be, flavourful broth, springy ramen and delicious toppings. Saltiness builds up towards the end though so not really suitable for older folks.

Marks & Spencer Tea Cakes

My favourite sweet snack from Marks and Spencer - the milk chocolate teacake (16 pieces for $6.90). Chocolate covered marshmellow on cake, individually packed in bite size pieces. Ready for tea, lunch boxes or at anytime of the day.

Crust Pizza

Pizza for dinner, my favourite food. Crust Pizza was featured in Sunday Times and we thought we should give it a try. Pizzas are $23 to $25, sides and desserts around $8 to $10.

Pizzas this price range are yummy with fresh ingredients. However, I am not so sure about the crust of this particular pizza. This place is a treat for rainy days indoors. If you can spare the time, pickup from a specialty pizzeria is always the best option.

Cha Siew wings were delicious, perfectly cooked juicy. Desserts come in glass containers and are really well thought out, do order it.

Le Pomme Rouge Candle

My first DL&Co candle that I am absolutely in love with. A brass enamelled apple filled with crisp thorn apple fragrance.

It's a heavily fragranced candle that provides 30+ hours of burn time. More than enough to last a full season on your dresser or study.

The container was inspired by antique jewellery boxes and after the candle is burnt, I have a beautiful container to keep.

Buy from Robinsons, $180. Other colours and fruits like pomegranates & pears are available as well as tealight sized miniatures.

Nasi Padang

Malay mixed rice, also called Nasi Padang in Singapore. I think it's because there were many Indian food stalls near the padang last time. Am I right?? I have heard it called many other names but it's essentially the same thing; Nasi Kandar, Nasi Kerabu.

And the popular local drink Bandung or rose syrup with milk. I actually prefer it without milk.

Evil Eye Chinese Knot

* Bad vibes still running from the extremely rude SAs at Dior*

I wanted to make an evil eye talisman for a friend and ran through several designs before deciding to make it in the style of a traditional chinese knot. I haven't done this in almost 2 decades so am a little rusty and need the help of a styrofoam board and pins.

I love the sophisticated deep cobalt blue of this traditional charm and found a design I really like (above). But, I don't know how to make these knots so I guess I'll have to buy it.

I had to make the tassle from silk threads with colours chosen to reflect those of the glass ornament. I hope the end result looks good, there's a lot of colour going on here :p
