Grocery Haul - more meat



Filling my fridge with dimsum, 5 packs of pau in chicken/pork/charsiu/braised/minis. Also got 2 packets of crystal dumplings and 1 packet of siew mai.


Big packet of teriyaki chicken sticks like satay only without the sauce. It's actually quite similar to the ones served in Japanese restaurants.


Prepped chicken in a herbs crumb coating and in a truffle seasoning. Both pretty good and can easily replace CP Chicken.


Frozen mutton cubes, I recently changed from bone-in cutlets to meat cubes.


Prepped baby back ribs 3x500gm packs in assorted flavors. As well as prepped oysters for the deep fryer. These are easily restaurant quality meals, definitely above average.


All types of potatoes from local begedil to nacho cheese filled potato balls. The bags are a little too big for everyday so it needs to be broken down into smaller bags before freezing again.


Dimsum items golden custard mochi sesame balls for the deep fryer and 10 pack of Lor Mai Gai or chicken glutinous rice with mushrooms.


This frozen foods order came with 10 free packets of mini eclairs.


I bought all the 7D mangorinds to give out to more people to try, its sweet and sour. I would get the preserved plums and such but I cannot find those nowadays.


Mentos caramels in dark chocolate, white chocolate and mint. Something really yummy my friend bought for me to try out before and when I found it at the supermarket I bought more.


Flower crabs were on offer $1.49 per 100gm, I bought a few and poached it in hot water to eat with gochujang sauce. Crabs are not meant to be eaten raw, it really needs to be cooked so I do not know what ganjang gejang is about.

Tea Talk / Mei Heong Yuan Desserts / Central Thai Kitchen



Took advantage of free delivery to get our food from several different places instead of just one restaurant.


Mei Heong Yuen Desserts actually has my fave snow ice, its soo light & fine that it melts in your mouth immediately. I ordered a watermelon lychee mix $7 and that watermelon is really delicious. I also ordered the Herbal Jelly, should have gotten it from here instead of the other dessert place.


From Tea Talk its Strawberry Pineapple Tea and Mix Fruit Tea, that tastes more like fruit juice instead with plenty of cut fruits inside. Almost no tea at all.


Central Thai Kitchen, I ordered my fave basil mince chicken that lacked that oomph, maybe the chef is a foreigner. Prawn cake fritters were also nice and sweet but no thai herbs at all. Tom Kha seafood soup that is originally a gravy for steamed fish but nowadays its a soup that uses pure coconut milk only with Thai herbs.

Thai Ruk Mookata



I finally get to try one of these Thai Mookata places and its home delivery from Thai Ruk Mookata along Kim Keat Road.


Most important item here is the tom yum soup that is the base of mookata. This tom yum soup is available in either clear or thick using vegetarian tomato soup stock. I chose to add the seafood that is overcooked but the soup is really good.


Chicken Pad Thai or fried noodles that surprised me by how delicious it was. Whenever I see that coconut lime I know its going to be a good meal. The prawn cakes are fluffy and tasteless, same as the other Thai food place.


Som Tam or papaya mango salad, how can you have Thai food without this? The veges taste a little swampy but the rest of it is good, really fiery even though you don't see the chilies.

Royale Buffet Restaurant @ Mercure Hotel



I absolutely love the location of this place, Royale Buffet @ Mercure Hotel. In the middle is a public carpark, on each side is this Hotel, HDB flats with coffeshops, Shopping Center, older HDB shops.


This buffet serves familiar food in a cute colourful package. All the maki, kueh etc are cut up in really tiny pieces with adorable details.


The rest of the buffet is convention style refreshments, very corporate.


I filled up on these claypots of home style cooking that is really good. There is smoked fish, kamheong lala, sambal prawns.


I was too full to try these, the warm pear tart, crab beehoon, hot&sour soup.


Cappuccino from the self-serve machines and gula melaka cupcake.
