CNY pantry

First and foremost, its tea and lots of it in different brands and varieties. 2 cartons of canned Chinese tea, Korean style teabags, Arabic mix box of tea blends including this one called "Valentine"??

Box sets of ginseng honey sticks, its priced around $2 per stick, almost the same price as regular honey sticks. And its paired with chrysanthemum flower tea that is like those blooming flower tea balls only its just one flower, $0.60 per packet.

More canned abalone, cannot run away from it. Dried mushrooms 200gm and dried scallops 200gm, planning to make pen cai at home.

1kg of dried apricots for $16, I am still looking for those dried peaches, apricots are easier to find than peaches. After this initial order I ordered more pineapples, mangoes, blackcurrants. Still no peaches.

Roasted and peeled chestnuts x10 packets, portion control and de-shelled.

10 packs of mini eclairs @ $1.90 per pack! I'm glad there is a freezer at home for these things.

Filled up the rest of the freezer with ice-cream. We go through these quickly, around one box a day, like cigarettes.

二叔大岁 @ Sheraton Hotel

It's actually a double birthday celebration @ Sheraton Hotel. This place is pretty old but still looks really impressive.

I like the floral arrangements, color choice is really cute.

Lotus buns followed by cold dishes. It's not my imagination that the lotus buns look a bit wrong.

Selfie taken in between the dishes, I used a hot brush this time not sure if there is a difference. Press-on nails from Dashing Diva look real and are quick to put on, most of it fell off on the way home tho.

Seafood Soup and fried Prawn Balls coated in wasabi mayonnaise.

Roast chicken in the most delicious bbq sauce ever and steamed red fish.

Veges in Scallop Oyster sauce and Lotus wrapped Glutinous Rice, both CNY dishes and taste about right.

Left my pressie on the gift table, its the one in green stripes with golden stars.

Dessert of mochi balls in red bean soup and hot English tea. I saw a big pot of English tea and Chinese tea sitting on the service table but the waitress actually went out into the conference buffet area to get my cup of tea.

Matt & Jing's Wedding @ Orchard Hotel

Sneak peak into the ballroom before everyone got seated, loving the new picnic/rustico decor.

Smoked trout canapes are the best, everyone was commenting about it.

Party favors are re-useable straw and butter spreader in either a sakura or rose design. The rose design looks like some kind of alien eyeball symbol and the kids really liked it.

Selfies, I put a new product into my hair and it turned out as wet look soo 90s.

Lobster done in two ways and Shark's Fin soup. Wish there was more lobster.

Scallops & asparagus + steamed Fish. Would order these dishes again in a Chinese restaurant.

Braised Abalone that tasted kinda liver-y with that vege and Roast Duck that didn't taste liver-y at all.

I really like lotus wrapped glutinous rice, preserved ham inside turns out nice and juicy. Mango soup for dessert, want more.

Days Hotel Buffet Dinner

My first time eating snow crab, one of the features of this buffet. The prawns are really sweet but the shells are quite sharp. Sushi and sashimi selection is limited but I love salmon and only eat that anyways.

There was a really juicy roast beef, with lots of gravy. All the dishes are western style stews and such, I was honestly expecting nasi padang coz this area doesn't have any nasi padang stalls/restaurants.

Cheese platter with dried fruits, healthy rice salad, pasta salad, caprese salad.

The largest dessert selection, it makes up half of the buffet. Automated coffee machines, soft serve machines, chocolate fountain, entire chest freezer of ice pops, entire standing freezer of cakes, only one tray of local kueh.
