It's the New Year 2020

 Trying to get more organized with my tabletop makeup & skincare so I got this bubble looking organizer that is surprisingly roomy.

Bought plastic bags, receipt books and ordered more box packaging to do sales. Planning to make the signs from scrap-booking paper and tack-it.

2kg of white quinoa, superfood that fills you up with nutrition, perfect for my packed lunches this coming year.

Cartons of coke and abalone. I tried buying local drinks like winter-melon tea before but its not as popular.

Bulk purchase of instant noodles to fill up the pantry for the coming year.

I finally bought the oversized kaftans to wear coz there is really nothing in my size anymore. It does feel like costumes coz its not my culture and I have never been on holiday there before. But even if I sew it myself I cannot wear it, it has to be purchased from a store that carries the same item in bulk. Soo troublesome.

Also got some regular clothing of leggings and tops. Clothes are presents to myself for Birthday, Christmas and New Years.

I must be one of the last few people to sign up for the National Steps Challenge. You can buy fitbits or win it in lucky draws, here you get it free! It counts everything from steps to heart rate and distance.

This is a Made-in-China electric fly swatter, its supposed to have a safe electrical voltage to kill flies as compared to earlier versions. New features like the in-built LED lamp and charging stand.

Boon Keng Chicken Pot

Foodpanda delivery of marinated side dishes from a Chinese eatery that sells those skewers of tripe & meat in a spicy or non-spicy soup base.

Drinks are Snow Pear and Honey Pomelo, both rarely seen on supermarket shelves. It tastes a little like bananas.

From over a dozen different types, I ordered 5 kinds of side dishes $6 to $8 each : mung bean noodles, shredded potatoes, kelp, preserved century egg and beef.

The preserved century egg is very good and tastes like mee rebus without the nuts. This was completely eaten up in an instant.

The mung bean noodles are non-spicy and mixed in a garlicky peanut sauce with cucumbers, carrots, black fungus. This can only be kept overnight at best coz the mung bean noodles turn hard & dry.

The shredded potatoes are very much like crunchy radish, in a spicy vinegar sauce. 

The beef slices hold well together and mixed with garlic and chilies, ready for a salad or sandwich.

Kelp that is a pricey delicacy most times but here it tastes a little swampy, after about a week or so it tastes better coz the garlic chili really overpowers everything else.

Fayidha Restaurant

Foodpanda delivery from Fayidha Restaurant, that corner coffeeshop along Kim Keat Road. The food is always good.

I ordered Murtabak Emirates Mutton that is a wrap all rolled up with fresh salad and dressing inside. The dhal curry is like a dip for the wrap.

Teh Halia or ginger milk tea and mango lassi drinks, cold. Iced teh halia tastes better than the hot version.

Mee Goreng Seafood, I like that its in dark soya sauce so its sweeter even though its not Chinese style mee goreng.

The food was soo good I ordered it again, murtabak emirates chicken, mee goreng mutton, teh halia cold and teh o limau cold.

They sent prata instead with prata curry, still good.

82 Western Food

Foodpanda delivery from 82 Western Food @ Whampoa. It's nearby and yet I have not tried the food from this stall yet.

Fish & Chips, Mixed Grill and an extra side order of onion rings. Free can of Coca-cola with every mains ordered.

The fish and chips are really soft, I think its called milkfish and it just melts in the mouth.

The mixed grill was just chicken chop, a bit of steak and that fried fish fillet again.

An extra side of gravy with that extra side of onion rings.

Famous Long House Big Prawn Noodle

Foodpanda delivery from the famous prawn noodle stall @ Food Centre on Balestier Road. The prawn soup is still amazing.

Large size bowl of big prawn noodles costs $15! This is from a foodcourt not cafe.

Also ordered the Teochew Fried Prawn $10.30 and Teochew Oyster Omelette $8.30. Both pretty good with sour chili.

New Restaurants @ Zhongshan Park

Stackz, a new pancake place. I ordered Creamy Mussels as an after thought and it turned out to be unbelievably delicious. 

Passionfruit cooler, I like this fruit after trying out all the tea mixes, its not soo good on its own.

Salmon Avocado Crepe with cream on the side and no cheese. It's ok I guess but for $16.90 that's the same price as in Europe and avocado toast is the latest food trend there right now.

NewUbin @ Ramada Inn promises to be the best Zhi Char in Singapore and its about the same standard as any seafood restaurant in Singapore. I ordered Red Dot mocktail $9 just a dollar more than fresh coconut.

Punggol Mee Goreng $15 had just the right wok hei flavor even with fish cakes inside its still pretty tasty. And the Squid YouTiao $10 is stuffed full of meat, it's crispier coz its cut smaller than usual.

Something a little different is the Foie Gras Satay, just one stick served with raspberry sauce that goes nicely with it $9.

There is now Starbucks and McDonald just outside my place, no need to travel to Orchard Road / Shenton Way for it anymore. I actually stumbled in on opening day 👌🙌🙏. Now this place is like any other generic shopping center.
