Sihanoukville - Phnom Penh - Ho Chi Minh

Sihanoukville has several beach resorts and I booked this one for its relaxed beachfront restaurant, that is right on the beach. Feeling the sand between my toes while dining on Khmer and European dishes. I took the hotel motorcycle ride to the markets to check out the local produce.

Driving into Phnom Penh for lunch, shopping at Russian Market, Central Market, Artisans d'Angkor and rest.

This Cambodian Border is a busy street! Crammed full of shops and hostels, the border resembles a toll booth. OK, there is a narrow dirt path just after crossing the border into Vietnam that leads to duty free shopping, pray its open coz its cheap!

Driving into Ho Chi Minh, first stop is Q3 for load laundry, you can get this service in any Vietnam hostel by paying an additional delivery fee. Self service is S$20 to S$50 for washing and drying, pack your own detergent/softener/stain remover as the shop may not have it available. We popped out for lunch in one of the nearby restaurants and even managed to check out a giant soft toy shop. Car Parking in this area is tricky, you need to park in one of the commercial/government buildings and walk.

The next day we did more shopping, first stop is Thuy Design House. Everything's in USD and the clothes are more for a celebrities wardrobe than for us, btw the clothes are gorgeous definitely worth the trip. The sizes are a little small though, I wear an L to XL. Took a stroll along the shophouses to Saigon Kitsch for new retro-look souvenirs, along the way are bamboo lacquer ware and art.

Krabi - Ao Manao - Chantaburi

Krabi is located directly opposite Phuket, both are beach resort areas on the Andaman Sea. The scenery is totally different, Phuket has palm trees and Krabi has moss covered rocks. I hung out at the resort, maybe 1 walking street.

Left Krabi and drove along the highway, stopped at Tesco Lotus (that's Thailand's Tesco) for lunch and groceries, there is one at Surat Thani, one at Lang Suan and an Express further up the road on Chumphon. This is the place to eat lunch (KFC) and really buy groceries as the next place we are staying in are tiny beachside homes.

Prachuap Khiri Khan is located amongst several National Parks and this cluster of beach homes sit on Ao Manao a white sandy shoreline that stretches for miles. Each villa is equipped with a kitchenette but if you don't cook, there is a small cluster of eateries here.

Leaving the serene National Parks to Samut Songkhram famous for its floating markets. There is Amphawa Floating Market (fri, sat, sun evenings) and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market (6.30 to 11am). Having lunch, looking for the famous boat noodles (A) and do some shopping. railway market.

Skipped Bangkok and Pattaya to head towards the border, stayed overnight at The Blue Rabbit Hotel in Chantaburi, S$50 for a night's stay including breakfast. Down the road is 7-11, the last one we'll see on this trip and last chance to buy prepared meals and drinks. Headed along the coastline to the Cambodian Border.

Singapore - Kuala Lumpur - Hat Yai

Stopped for lunch at Yongpeng, Batu Pahat, it's right on the highway and famous for its fishball noodles.

I reached KL in the late afternoon and checked-into a hotel near the Petronas Twin Towers so I could park the car at the hotel and walk there. Been to KL before but never visited the Twin Towers before, at the base is Suria KLCC shopping center and park. Isetan supermarket, Habib Jewels and dinner before going back to sleep.

The next morning, I left bright and early after breakfast, heading north to Taiping, Perak for lunch. This place is also right on the highway and famous for its Chinese style vegetarian food, western food and bakeries.

Duty Free Shopping in Malaysia just before the border into Thailand. The prices are not exactly cheap but if you are looking to stretch your legs than this is the place. I found some unusual items to buy.

There is only 1 restaurant in the hotel I was staying in, had dinner there and went to sleep. The next morning, I checked out Kim Yong Shopping Center, Stocked up on food at 7-11, Checked out the biggest mall in Hat Yai at the moment - Central Festival. I packed a cooler to keep my drinks cool and food fresh, but its possible to buy a cooler at the supermarket for around S$25.

Stopped for lunch here. There is a Robinson Tops Supermart here as well, I didn't stop by as I already visited the Tops Supermart in Hat Yai. There is the municipal market and 7-11 along the main road to stock up on groceries (drinks, prepared sandwiches and flowers). There is a dimsum restaurant along the main road between the market and 7-11 and latrang2 restaurant before the market.

Finished 6 cycles of chemotherapy, the second half was supposed to be easier than the first but to me it feels the same. Maybe I am more used to the after-effects and take the effort to rest more. Changing to immunotherapy.

New Construction

HDB construction going on opposite my home, soo noisy and dusty. My mom keeps reminding me to apply for BTO (in case I miss it). I am over 35 years old and there is a rebate for buying a home near my parent's place. Gonna wait for sale of remaining BTO flats, coz I hear that's the best offer.

Essential snacks like gummies, cheese crackers and jelly drinks. I like the Coca-Cola gummies coz I can't drink the carbonated version right now. Also, cannot do without essence of chicken and bird's nest (without TCM inside).

Heart ECG and ultrasound. Not the scariest scan but still troublesome. Results were 👍,  nothing to worry about.
