I purchased the limited edition heart-shape carafe of Chabot XO that is filled with the best aged armagnac. I like the fruitilicious base of this particular brand. Even though hard liquor is not suitable for our weather to be drunk straight up, it makes for a great addition in recipes and desserts as the flavours shine through.
And the nice people gave me a vintage 1988 Chabot to try, not quite year of my birth but close. So I drank this in celebration of my birthday. After sampling it, I blended it into a cocktail coz complex as the fruit flavours may be, it is incredibly bitter as all armagnacs are.
