My cousin got married recently @ Holiday Inn Orchard. I've never been here before, its really old world luxe.

The wedding pictures are really nice! Everyone says they take their wedding pics in Malaysia now because the exchange rate is 1:3 and there are more locations to shoot at.

Long dinner, I arrived at 6pm and it was midnight by the time I got home.

Xin Heng Feng Guo Tiao Tan Fish Steamboat

Sunday dinner with the family on a nostalgic favorite, charcoal steamboat. I got burned from the flickering coals so kids usually have to sit far away from this.

Whampoa market has a very popular fish steamboat stall that customers usually have to wait 40mins before tucking into. Everyone comes here for the unique broth that is flavored with dried fish and contains fish slices, yam, cabbage and seaweed.

While we wait, the stall offers braised dishes like pigs trotters, bean curd, egg, mui choy. There is also a satay stall nearby that you can order from while waiting for the steamboat to be served. 

Spotlight - Curtain Remnants - Jacket A

I really like Cynthia Rowley patterns. Having obtained some heavy twill/silk fabrics with full interfacing already ironed on, I decided to sew up some modern work classics, a buttonless jacket with matching sheath dress.

Jacket A is made from 1 single piece of fabric, 3.5 yards of 45" wide. Using 6 paper pattern cutouts to get 15 pieces of fabric to sew together. The lining is made from a further 5 pieces of fabric.

Total fabric cost is $150! How do people make these to sell? Luckily, I bought the fabrics at a deep discount since its all loose ends from the curtain department.

After I sewed the vest, I realized the seams are slightly off but the total length is correct. Soo strange.

Finished jacket that looks like a crop top. Maybe it will flatten out after ironing. It's got some real weight to it as well.

Maison Martin Margiela Autumn/Winter 2015/2016

Maison Martin Margiela sits on the cutting edge of fashion, its no surprise he worked for Jean Paul Gaultier before. I remember the brilliant deconstructed clothes from previous collections when he helmed the fashion house himself. This year, John Galliano takes over as Creative Director and the clothes retain their sexy avant garde look.

MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela is its ready-to-wear label. The clothes are more sedate and wearable while retaining wackiness. There's always some toy clothing or accessories for whoever is in the mood.

I got this in the mail! Am I in trouble with the law?

Silky Men Perfume

Silky Girl has loads of new perfumes. Personally, I like Bulgarian Rose from their flowers series of scents. Their newest Aktiv range are all fresh clean scents for girls who workout, spritz a healthy dose on yourself after your exercise class. More complex perfumes can be had from their love series of perfumes, meant as love tokens. Priced affordably at $9.90 to $14.90 a bottle.

Silky Girl also launched Silky Men perfumes and deodorants for guys. The Aktiv range is a series of fresh clean scents for guys. However, I was really impressed by the other perfumes that are comparable to high-end stuff in stores. The packaging is a little plain but at $9.90 to $11.90 a 100ml bottle, you really won't mind.
