Simplicity Tulle Skirt - A & C

Pattern A is a classic short tulle skirt and Pattern C is the full-length version. I know there are easier ways to sew a tulle skirt but I have to try doing it the proper way first. My skirt length won't be the same as the pattern, because I am using beaded tulle with an embroidered hem, so the length is already determined. Beaded material is seriously not easy to sew and I had to get special needles for my sewing machine, never seen that many sewing needles break in 1 session before.

The pattern calls for 8 to 15 yards of tulle. I used considerably less as this material is stiffer than the regular soft tulle. The underlay is between 2 to 4.5 yards of material and I will be using silver and pink to make 2 separate skirts and see the difference inner lining makes.

I now have 2 fabric cutting shears, 1 for regular fabric and 1 for beads/sequins fabric. The beads/sequins make my cutting shears blunt so this is a pair I regularly sharpen. Label it so you don't mix up the 2. I can't even begin to tell you how many pairs of scissors I have just for sewing (not including other crafts). I have a soft grip craft scissors for cutting paper patterns, embroidery scissors for cutting thread from the machine and 2 fabric cutting shears.

I like how the beautifully embroidered edgings showed up nicely on the skirt.

Gonna sew a matching pink cotton top to wear with this.

Nina Ricci Spring Summer 2015

Nina Ricci makes sweet, feminine, sexy clothes for women. This season is no different.

That same girlishness is translated into pretty day outfits for work or other more formal events.

Nina Ricci Resort 2015 is still feminine and sexy but features more modern separates.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse®

I keep seeing and hearing great things about this NUXE product called Huile Prodigieuse or multi usage dry oil. It comes in 50ml or 100ml @$68 and 50ml or 100ml OR (gold shimmer) limited edition bottles @$88.

It contains natural plant extracts and vitamin E to restore and heal your skin, absorption is immediate so no oily residue or greasy feeling. You can use it as a hair treatment, face & body moisturizer, cuticle oil, bath oil, even for removing makeup! To all those pretty girls out there without any skincare products, this is a must have.

The glass bottle is really pretty, the spray nozzle (100ml only) for easy application is well thought out. The scent is lovely, seriously, Nuxe launched Prodigieux le Parfum a perfume that captures the scent of Huile Prodigieuse.

As for bug spray, anti-depressant and medicated oil, I did dab some onto my tummy-ache and it went away.

Lindemans Fruit Beers

Lindemans Fruit Beers available @ Redmart.com, $6 per 250ml bottle. After trying a whole bunch of fruit beers, I like Lindemans best. It's not fruit juice and beer, nor cocktail mix. It's really fermented fruit made into a beer that tastes like itself. There is Kriek (cherry) and Framboise (raspberry) my 2 favorite fruit ingredients in the world.

Patriotic Angel Cross-Stitch

I had to use magnifying craft lens to sew this, first time. It wasn't just the 18 count Aida fabric with tiny squares for me to work with, it was also the dark navy blue background that made it hard to see.

Working with metallic thread again, this time around it was much easier coz there was less metallic bits to sew.

Gold Petite Angels always have some sort of embellishment, here it is metallic thread made into tassels and knots to create pop-up effects on the angel.

Nicole Miller Spring Summer 2015

Nicole Miller is inspired by Brazil this Spring/Summer and her clothes burst forth with exuberance.

It's young and fun, in either B&W or bright & fun prints.

I like that cross body top and matching skirt. Also the use of fruits in the prints is really cute.
