Sewing Christmas Stockings

Christmas crafts to get everyone into the holiday swing.

There was this 1 particular Spotlight fabric panel that was printed incorrectly with all the stockings facing in one direction only. I didn't notice it at the store and when I got home there wasn't enough fabric to sew it up properly. So this year, when Spotlight put out the Christmas items in September (soo early!) I bought more fabric in a pretty gold-lined mistletoe pattern (Elizabeth Brown Designs Woodland Splendor) to complete it.

I got 4 decent sized Christmas Stockings, 4 petite-sized Christmas Stockings, 8 charms that I used fabric stiffener and glue on and a couple more Christmas charms that would look great on a quilt (that I will hopefully get to in the future).

The perfect complements to those Neiman Marcus stocking hangers.

Estee Lauder Lucidity Loose Powder

As the title suggests, this is a loose powder that is translucent and used as a dusting powder on hot summer days or after applying foundation. Soo lightweight that it is non-intrusive and natural.

 Currently, I am using 01 the lightest shade.

4 Fingers (new menu)

Trying out the new items on the menu. Kimchi slaw, chicken karaage and fried mantous, so messy but so good. Calamari and shrimp with soy, lime, garlic sauce.

Hit It Rich! Casino Slots

 Everyone knows you can play casino slots on Facebook and this app wins my vote. I can play to my heart's content without spending a cent and have played bonus rounds more often than I have in the actual casinos. Everyday I get free coins and I win even more as I play, I have yet to tap out here. It's a great fix for jackpot junkies. Only complain I have is the good graphics take time to unlock as you have to earn points and build up to it.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2014

  

Nice to see distressed is still in fashion for Fall 2014. As Monique Lhuillier makes similar wedding dresses in white and blush.

This season, her wedding dresses are mostly flowy like a grecian goddess..

A wedding trend to incorporate more colours for variation and here there is blush and beige for the bride to choose from. It's still a very subtle change.

To contrast, wedding designers like to do a very dark, mostly black collection for RTW. I am loving that pink & black floral print. 

We see some non traditional bridal styles incorporated into the collection as well. Like that pink and white tulle dress and a black & white long gown.

Stocking Hangers

My stocking hangers arrived in these life-sized boxes, excessive packaging to the max as it had my family worried.

My friend was trying to explain to me wreath hangers are impossible to find here, so she improvised with coat hangers or wardrobe valets. It's true, these things are quite difficult to find here so I shopped Neiman Marcus online (free shipping to Singapore with minimum purchase) and got these muscial-themed Stocking Hangers to create that storybook Christmas in Singapore, I even got extra sets in gold tone finial for that same friend. I bet she'll be thrilled.

Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Mist

An island inspired hair product filled with island ingredients like aloe vera, algae extracts, sea salt, coconut, orchid, tahitian gardenia, kukui nut oil. It brings you the scent of exotic island vacations and the look too! Hair is naturally thickened, tousled, volumized and slightly wavy. All with just a few sprays of this product that in my opinion is almost like hair spray. Just make sure you don't spray it on your scalp or it will itch. I think it works best on people with short hair as the curls are more visible. People with long hair will find it more volumized than curly.
