Singpost updated its services to include returned mailbox that will come in handy when the mailman delivers letters to the wrong address. It has a new feature POPstation that you can forward mail and parcels to so you don't have to be home to sign for packages. And a new website SampleStore.com where you can request for samples to try out at home. To celebrate all of this, Singpost gave out local postage stamps (6 pack) in a light blue dove design.

Stila Makeup Foundations

Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, as it was made for sensitive skin and helps reduce redness and skin irritation. First of, it dries to leave a powder finish but the look is not obviously powdery due to the micro-spheres of pigments, providing excellent coverage for fine lines and other flaws. It is also infused with natural emollients & extracts to nourish & protect the skin.

Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation is a lightweight moisturizing formulation that provides translucent coverage. Enough to even out skin tone and hide minor imperfections. Easy to apply and long-wearing as I wore it the entire day at work, no problems, minimal touch-up required. However, it's not fragranced like most foundations in its price range.

2 different products that I have tried from Stila cosmetics. Stila also carries Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer (not BB), Perfect & Correct Foundation (Mineral makeup base), All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer (more glitter to be worn alone or mixed with your fave moisturizer/foundation).

Weighing in on Supermarket Contests

After a good few months of entering supermarket contests, I really had lots of fun and won lots of prizes. It was a great experience for a bored girl. These contests also extended past supermarket chains like Sheng Siong into convenience stores 7-Eleven, Cheers etc.

A warning to all my friends that it is NOT CHEAP entering supermarkets contests, I spent upwards of $500 each month. I rationalize that I am buying food or cleaning products, daily essentials and not luxury. My kitchen cupboards filled up quickly over these months and I always had extra to share with family and neighbors. You need handy wrapping skills to turn the excess into pretty hampers for housewarmings, birthdays and newborns. To save money you should choose only contests with prizes you really want, re-gifting can be a chore as you have to think of someone that needs that exact item.

This exercise is also time-consuming, thank goodness I have all the time in the world. Being able to shop off-peak hours was a great relief as there are less shoppers around and nobody at checkout. I have to say it's really tiring but at the same time rewarding. It wasn't easy making all those grocery runs and to soo many outlets. If you are on a tight budget, make allowance for transportation costs.

Saint Laurent A/W 2014/2015 Fashion

Hedi Slimane returns to his inspiration for his first collection at Saint Laurent. This season the tribute to Eve gets updated into shorter coats and dresses. Everything's cute & preppy and we still see lots of sequins and leather (why kill a winning combination). But, it has a dark pilgrim edge to it all.

Saint Laurent Menswear has lots of versions of the classic black leather jacket for you to choose from this season. Flashy alternatives are also available like the pinstripe coat or tux tailcoat.

Yankee Candles Autumn 2014

The new Autumn fragrances are here and this year Yankee Candles is going with fresh outdoorsy scents and rich desserts.

Ginger Dusk ~ originally part of the Indian Summer collection, its island breeze filled with tangy sharp spices and sweet citrus fruits.

Cranberry Pear ~ Absolutely sweet and ripe, bursting with vibrancy. Smells like my old strawberry shortcake toys. 

Silver Birch ~ Smells like autumn outdoors when it is snowing. The crispness of dried leaves and dryness in the air.

Bay Leaf Wreath ~ I didn't get a sample but this candle was burning in the store, its almost like silver birch but really green and leafy.
