Zalora Promotion Haul

I bought some accessories earlier in the month to test out the links with the Zalora staff. Was eagerly awaiting the end of the month to buy the rest, so everyone can buy what they need first.

I have to say this Zalora promotion is one of the perks of having a blog. On top of website discounts, my HSBC card gave me another 20% off non-branded merchandise. Add on the promotional 50% commission for bloggers and I managed to do all my gift shopping for the year within budget. I guess there is no need to wait for the Great Singapore Sale!

Purl Knit Beanie

To make an adult-sized beanie or winter cap, I used just half a skein of yarn on a 52 peg closed loop loom. Took me about 2 days, most of it was spent unravelling the yarn.

Alternating single knit with purl stitches, you get a double layer fabric and the inside looks like the outside. So when you roll it up to wear, it looks the same.

Instead of casting off to end, you use the gathering method where you gather the ends with a needle and thread, then pull.

Flip it inside out and you have a beanie. I made 1 fold on the bottom and sewed it down so there is a mark where the next fold should be. That way, the folds won't curl and roll around.

With the leftover yarn, I made a double yarn cap that's smaller and thicker with a brim. I guess it's more of a fishing hat for a baby instead.

Versace Aeroplane

I just realized all the Versace vehicles have a standard black & white colour scheme with greek key detailing. If you buy all their collaborations, you will have a complete set of land and air vehicles. Versace better start working on a yacht or boat to get that sea element covered as well.

This collaboration means you can get Versace to design and outfit the interiors of your Gulfstream G400, G500 and the Boeing Business Jet. The possibilities are endless as interiors are customized for its owner's needs.

Air Fryer

A sort of new fryer that uses drops as opposed to vats of oil to fry cut vegetables and frozen food. It's safer and less messy than a conventional deep fryer as it covers up completely and you don't have to deal with hot boiling oil. You also don't have to worry about changing the oil and throwing away used oil. However, you can't deep fry batter or larger items in this.

The capacity is enough to feed a family of four and crisps up fries nicely, a nice addition for the urban family. Especially if you have kids around.

Wella Professionals Biotouch Shampoo and Treatment Masque

Happy to see this on Strawberrynet. One of the guilty pleasures in life is using salon shampoos and treatments regularly at home, because it creates that lustrous salon finished hair and smells incredibly good.

This professionals range from Wella comes in supersizes and no pump, so it helps if you have a dispenser at home to store this in. I purchased anti-aging shampoos, colour protection and straightened hair intensive masks.

Using just the shampoo alone, my hair is smooth and supple and if I had short hair, I wouldn't need conditioner. The treatment mask makes it even softer and radiant. ~Love~

Mother's Day Block Dinner

One of the reasons why there is a block dinner every year on Mother's Day is its the easiest way for everyone to celebrate. No advance bookings, crowds or queues to contend with.

The food is pretty unusual like coffee spare ribs in yam basket.

Herbal Chicken soup for a change.

My favorites were the roasted duck and herbal prawns.

I missed the knitting day sale but this new sale allows me 30% savings on yarn so I decided to buy the high-end stuff to make Christmas presents with. I found Alpaca (hypoallergenic), Mohair (keeps warm on cold days and cool on warmer days) and Merino Wool (super soft) at Spotlight. I spent about S$200 after discounts. Going to check out Golden Dragon Store later and see what they have.
