CozyCot CIMB Present

Bagful of freebies from Cozycot! My first early Christmas present from CIMB.

Got myself a nice roast bird from a Chinese restaurant for lunch! Crackling skin, delicious fats and soft meat are signs of a well-cooked duck and widely available anywhere in Singapore at all times of the day.

Cruise Day 4

Today we go home and breakfast is extra early at 6:30am. When we woke up and pulled the curtains back, we saw the ship had already docked at Marina Bay Harbour.

I took some time to walk on the deck and watch the sunrise.

By the time we made it to breakfast, there was already a queue of people waiting to leave the ship.

But, there was still time for a formal breakfast and the kitchen crew were most helpful with our orders.

Breakfast was mostly orange juice for me, i just love that stuff in the morning.

These big breakfasts are starting to resemble McDonald meals, especially the sausages, waffles and french toasts in terms of flavour. Is it my imagination, but the sauces come in little plastic tubs too.

Cruise Day 3

Cream cheese and smoked salmon for breakfast.

Scrapbooking session after breakfast at the bar, again over that piano. First time I am trying out scrapbooking and it really is fun. The kit distributed is free and you can buy bigger packs from the staff for just USD$9.90.

Fruit carving demo at the central area. So this is the chef that makes all those food decorations.

1 more game of bingo before lunch.

For lunch, I find out there is a big salad bar in the middle of the restaurant that makes the most delicious combinations.

Classic burger, my bro says its the same one that's served in room service.

I took an afternoon nap as I have been waking up fairly early the last 2 days. Housekeeping staff made a heart or angel's wings arrangement this time.

The ship anchored at Malacca and I slept through it. Didn't make it out to land this time as it was too troublesome to take a ferry out to harbor. Time for napkin folding lessons at the bar before dinner, we missed yesterday's session.

Kebabs for dinner with wine. The thing with drinks is you have to buy a package on board and my bro got a wine one for our meals. The selection is pretty good so just go with whatever is recommended.

Shared a cream flan with my mom.

Since its the last night of the cruise, the dining room staff gave us a rousing performance.

In the evening, I wound down at the lounge with the daily special, today its Asian Sunset and you get to keep the glass after. Live music on board the ship is world class in standards and variety, its on almost all day everyday in various venues on board.

Cruise Day 2

Started the day with sunny side up eggs. When you order tea, the waiter brings over a box for you to choose your blend.

After breakfast, there was a towel folding session in the central area as the housekeeping staff bring you through the steps on how to fold animals from towels.

Followed by a jewellery making session at the bar, over the piano! We got to keep our bali beads bracelet.

Before I knew it, it was lunch time.

My favourite cream of mushroom soup and lamb pitas that were rubbed with a little too much garlic but still delicious.

My Strawberry Napolean was exactly as I would have wanted it.

The ship docked at Penang during lunch so by the time we were done, we could go on land for some local food and shopping.

That's the cruise liner. Can you believe they have another one twice as big called The Mariner that's coming next year? Swee can't wait to book it for the extended family.

Formal dinner tonight so we had to dress up a little for it. The dinner menu was totally worth it.

Scallop gratin, clam chowder and prawn cocktails for starters.

I ordered duck for mains and it was done in Peking Duck style with the same sauce and Chinese flat bread.

Chocolate mousse for dessert, perfectly done. The chef is a real pro man!

You make a hole in the center for the waitress to pour coffee sauce in and it makes it that much better.

Walked off dinner with some on-board shopping and a live show.

Is this towel peacock part of the turn down service these days? The housekeeping staff are under-paid because everyone had one of these too cute towel animals in their cabin.

Cruise Day 1

Checking into Royal Caribbean Cruises' Legend of the Seas at the new Marina Bay Harbour. It's been over a decade since my last cruise and I am looking forward to this one that will sail to Penang and Malacca.

It's Christmas time too! First things first, a welcome buffet.

Followed on by a walking tour of the ship's facilities.

The main deck where all the action happens, from live performances to contests and constantly over-run with sporty people.

Apart from the track for your morning run, there is also a rock-climbing wall, miniature golf course and swimming pool. The gym looks out into the deck where morning pilates and yoga classes are held.

The Casino! This is where the older folks are at. I tried the jackpot machines and lotto. I didn't win anything but my mom did win $100 from the 1 cent jackpot machines.

The kids checking out the view of the ocean from my room. It's amazing to be woken by the morning light that streams through.

Proper dinner seating at the dining hall. This has got to be my favorite part of the cruise. I really hate standing around waiting for empty seats.

An assortment of freshly baked bread at every meal, today there was a special tomato bread I think.

Pan-fried Atlantic Salmon for my mom and Prime Rib for me.

Chocolate cherry tart for dessert.

Post-dinner game of Bingo with the family. Will you look at the size of that game sheet.
