Medium Rare by Saveur

This is the steakhouse of Saveur group of restaurants. I ordered the ribeye and striploin for my family to try. It comes with several sauces you can choose from like mushroom, béarnaise, peppercorn, Sichuan mala, chimichurri and café de Paris butter.

Steaks are soo tender you can cut it with a spoon! The cafe de paris butter has garlic herbs and lemon, I kinda like the lemon coz it makes this more summer-ish.

There are also a whole bunch of classic American steakhouse appetizers and side dishes. I ordered the creamed spinach, truffle fries, Caesar salad and prawns in lemon butter that came with garlic bread. Would order the salad again, maybe the truffle fries too, it's like McDonald's fries but with truffle.

For dessert & drinks I had to order it from a new bubble tea shop Ulu Tea, that sells fizzy soda mixes with pop balls (pearls or bubbles). The word "ulu" looks like the owl's eyes & nose. The drinks are very sweet so I would go for 25% sugar level next time on the sodas.

Floral teas on the other hand are very dry and bitter even with 100% sugar levels. Mom drank one before I could take a pic and she agrees. I think if I mixed all the teas together it would be just right.

Panda Mart Delivery

Instant delivery within 2 hours! Instead of ordering lunch delivery, I get groceries instead. It's just batteries, biscuits, juices, soups and a sandwich for my lunch. The chicken pesto sandwich is nice and cold with pure basil pesto.

Ceres juices in some combinations I've never tried before, minute maid tropical that I've never tried before as well. Campbell & Heinz canned soups, local peanut soup and S&B miso soup packets that I'm really looking forward to.

90 second microwaveable rendang rice that is really convenient and tastes pretty good. Bought that Mama instant noodle kway teow teng not in tom yum flavor as is their other instant noodles. Vicenza hazelnut choco creme biscuits and Lotte custard creme cakes.

Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice

 

Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice is famous for its delicious chicken rice, it's all about more meat and the meaty white chickens they use are really the differentiating factor. My daddy passed on and they bought me chicken rice for midnight supper.

Boon Tong Kee is well known for its zhi char and another type of chicken rice in a claypot with dark soya sauce that has to be pre-ordered from the restaurant.

Hei Zhou with sweet syrup, I really like this Singapore Malaysia classic dish that is mostly meat and also combination of meats including prawns.

Imperial pork ribs a sweet & juicy dish. And cereal prawns, sweet but also crunchy and spicy. I can eat spoonfuls of that fried cereal with just rice and it will taste just as good.

L'Angelus @ Club Street

Home delivery from this date night place, hoping its the same food as I remember from the restaurant. Parking is limited as is public transportation so home delivery really solves that problem although the menu is quite small.

There's a lot of beef on the menu to choose from like chateaubriand, cote d'boeuf, entrecote, fillet mignon, tartare de boeuf. The sides and sauces on the menu are to add onto the steak plates. I went with entrecote steak coz it comes with seasonal veges 😄😋 all the sides are veges so hoping this covers it. And steak tartare that comes with fries.

The steak is really delicious and comes with a red wine sauce (I didn't have to choose it). I think the red wine sauce goes better with the steak tartare that's served cold and raw! Seasonal veges is just pureed assorted mushrooms that is really tasty, as is the potato gratin.

Homemade hot Coca-Cola with lime and mint, prefer hot drinks to cold drinks nowadays. Once I add honey it will be the same thing they serve in Hong Kong cafes, haven't done that yet coz it'll make the drink too sweet.

The Handburger

 

Food delivery from newly re-opened hamburger place, don't know why this place closed down but now its re-opened with a new menu. My order of 3 burgers, 3 drinks and 3 sides came up to S$58 including delivery. 

Healthy side dishes of southern fried quorn (meat substitute) only the quorn didn't turn up. Corn chips with cheese sauce is not nacho cheese but nutty & mature. I really like the freshly made corn chips available at Soup Spoon and its other F&B brands.

Drinks are iced teas and a citrus lime drink, pre-packaged. No straws here, peel the top off to drink. Burgers are really good, its half the size of the version at Chili's. All beef in brioche bun or quorn (meat substitute) patty.

Krapow Thai Kitchen

Name of this restaurant has my favorite dish in it! Located inside Far East Plaza, that we all know has the best hawker food in Singapore. I ordered a rice noodle main course, side dish, drink and pickles for one person, S$55 including home delivery.

The crackling pork belly is either served with Chinese style mustard or Thai jeaow sauce. This jeaow sauce is vinigery chili with I think spring onion and a few more seasonings inside, really delicious. Pork fat has no taste, I've noticed that recently in the clean tasting pork.

Drunkard noodles! It doesn't have any alcohol in it at all, it's just really delicious. Thought I would try this after last week's post on weeping tiger beef from Saveur Thai, really delicious trendy foods. I think there are other restaurants that serve both these dishes together.

Homemade pickles is actually mui choy that is usually braised with pork belly in dark sauce, this one has a really piggy smell and taste totally different from the pork belly used above. Lemongrass drink pre-packaged, I still prefer the drinks that come in a plastic cup.

Saveur Thai

 

Franchise eatery that boasts no pork and no lard. It's as authentic Thai as you can get, at least that's what I am counting on based on the reviews.

Trying out the Isan herbal beef soup, lots of herbs that you can munch on to get that full herbal flavor coupled with soft tender beef. No kway teow here but I still managed to finish the bowl of soup for dinner.

Weeping tiger beef salad, more like beef fillet with jeaow sauce that's a bit sour, the seasonings it comes in is delicious enough without the additional sauce.

Drinks of Thai lemon tea with that red fruit thing inside, very authentic. And lemongrass tea that is very mild and gently sweet.
