Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa

Staycation, vacationing on the cheap and in this case...free! My mom and I spent the weekend here courtesy of Marigold 100% Juice. Located in a quiet part of Sentosa with lush gardens to stroll in and big baths for a good soak.

Amara Sanctuary Resort is a fully renovated colonial building with a brand new glass enclosed event hall that my cousin Corinne had her wedding at a few years back. This tropical resort boasts swimming pools, gym, spa and F&B outlets with 1-for-1 happy hours. The staycations here are packaged for Spa, Fitness, POLW attraction and even Sentosa Play Pass.

Guerlain Super Aqua Serum

This is Guerlain's range for age defense using activated water complex, suitable for young to middle-aged adults. Providing moisture and protection for the dermis layer in a series of lotions, serums, creams & masks.

I have to say it's really light and fresh to use, even the creams. I feel a surge of moisture & coolness (not pepperminty) then the product disappears into the skin and the moisturized yet fresh face remains, $255 for 50ml. The differentiation factor is really the active water base that is non-oily and non-greasy. The face mask lover will want to try out the face and eye masks, my complexion was plumped out and glowing after use, $169 for 6 pcs.

Super Aqua Eye Serum $138 for 15ml .

Chinta Manis

Peranakan food and keuh with coffee, tea or lemon barley. Huge portions and delicious food, a taste of local traditions.

I am soo glad they have a cafe that serves peranakan/malay food nowadays, it used to be warong or fine dining. Individual portions help too.

Finally...New TV!

My old TV set finally conked and my dad got me a new flat screen TV (he already has 1 in his study & 1 in his bedroom). So the old box-shape TVs have officially left this house and we have upgraded to flat screens, light years behind everyone else.

Chloe Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion

Chloe channels a small mid-west town this season as it's clothes have a home-spun look. It's non-pretentious, baggy and comes in sensible colours.

I love the look of knit/crochet and this collection has lots of that.

Chloe's Resort 2014 collection continues on that same note in what the designer calls "a barefoot sensibility". When it comes to comfort, we can all agree to it.

Wonka Candy Roadshow Redemption

My first roadshow redemption, a Wonka Gummy Cushion from purchasing $6 of Wonka Candy. I was expecting a big banner and even bigger booth, it's actually 1 sales rep with a trolley full of goodies handing out samples inside the supermarket. Still, I did get my freebie and she was really nice!

The next roadshow redemption is for M&Ms @ Plaza Singapura over National Day. You can exchange wrappers for M&M stuff, kids activities and even bidding on bigger M&M memorabilia.

Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Serum

Guerlain's Abeille Royale skincare was created with royal jelly concentrates from bees to repair wrinkles and loss of skin firmness. There is a day cream, night cream, eye cream, toner and the flagship product a Youth Serum ($272 for 50ml). Hhmm... I detect some elements of EA's ceramide complex in the Abeille Royale products, so this is definitely for older folks.

The toner has more of a milky texture to prep the skin for the serum, followed on by the night cream ($85 for 150ml). Using all these elements together, skin is rejuvenated with plumpness, taut & smoothed out appearance within mere days. Maybe older folks can get the entire set to prep their skin for special occasions, not sure most people can afford this as part of their daily skincare routine.
