This is the 3rd series of Singapore coins issued by MAS. Super shiny and the numbers are extra large for easy viewing. Check out the duo-tone $1 coins, I am really into two-tone jewellery nowadays.

Burgundy Lace Mesh Capelet
Knitting capelets is a popular project amongst knitters, I think because it's soo edwardian age-ish that you really can't find it in stores so you have to knit it yourself. Personally, I like the way capelets dress up T-shirt, tank tops and to cover up the neckline of your outfit if it's too low for where you are going.
Here, I am using a burgundy crochet mesh that adds that depth and richness. It also goes well with denim blue, it would look strange if everything is in blue. I am also using a brooch to secure it instead of a ribbon or buttons.
Cast on 30 pegs that will be the full length of the cape, that way the mesh will be horizontal when I am wearing it instead of a scarf style where the ruffles are vertical. If you want a longer length (like me) than knit 2 pieces and sew it together with yarn from the mesh (pull on the mesh yarn to unravel as much thread as you need).
2 balls of mesh yarn was all I needed for a capelet for my petite sized mom. However, I kept going and used up all 4 balls of mesh yarn I had to make a larger version for myself, my mom can still wear it as a large shawl.

Louis Vuitton A/W 2013 Fashion
Fall is here and the first fashion review of the season is on LV. Marc Jacob said the collection was for a girl coming home from her midnight tyrst that I thought was really specific but you really can see it from the dark night-time colours and furry bags (soft toys?).
This glamorous walk of shame consists of slips and pajama-like clothes, with roomy coats thrown on. The evening dresses have deep cleavages and is mostly transparent!
The use of ombre pailettes is really fresh and adds that panache to the collection. ~Love~ these pieces.
Menswear this season looks inspired by a gentleman's trek up the Himalayas in the usual black, navy blue, browns and some leopard fur. Towards the end, there are brocade print tuxedos and smoking jackets.

Drinking Water
We often take it for granted that our tap water is safe for drinking. In areas with no or poor infrastructure, the water has to be filtered and purified before it can be consumed. Water filters to remove any impurities and then purification tablets to kill off bacteria and germs residing in the water.

La Senza
An affordable fashion-centered lingerie brand that sells the usual underwear, pajamas, beauty products and occasionally clothing.
This year we see lots of bright colours to reflect its young clientele. But, still lots of lace as it's supposed to be the sexy, fun versions of Triumph, Wacoal, you know the usual underwear brands.

Bison Gold Yarn project-in-progress
I feel almost guilty admitting this, I did buy 2 skeins of bison gold yarn for a project I have in mind. I read that if you purchase the Bison Gold yarn from The Yarn Co. it comes with LeTissierDesigns capelet pattern. I purchased mine directly from The Buffalo Wool Co. so no pattern, but I did use a coupon to get $10 off the total bill. I am planning to put #19 and #30 into 1 granny shawl, that I am sure of. However, no final pattern in mind yet.
I also purchased the recommended Miyuki Delica 24k gold-plated seed beads as it's lighter than most karated gold beads. They recommend you get it from Fire Mountain but I got mine from Jewelry Supply coz of a 31% coupon that took USD$37.14 off my total bill and international shipping with insurance costs just USD$12.14. Not sure where I'll put the seed beads yet, planning in progress. Can't wait to start!
