Wella Professionals Biotouch Shampoo and Treatment Masque

Happy to see this on Strawberrynet. One of the guilty pleasures in life is using salon shampoos and treatments regularly at home, because it creates that lustrous salon finished hair and smells incredibly good.

This professionals range from Wella comes in supersizes and no pump, so it helps if you have a dispenser at home to store this in. I purchased anti-aging shampoos, colour protection and straightened hair intensive masks.

Using just the shampoo alone, my hair is smooth and supple and if I had short hair, I wouldn't need conditioner. The treatment mask makes it even softer and radiant. ~Love~

Mother's Day Block Dinner

One of the reasons why there is a block dinner every year on Mother's Day is its the easiest way for everyone to celebrate. No advance bookings, crowds or queues to contend with.

The food is pretty unusual like coffee spare ribs in yam basket. 

Herbal Chicken soup for a change.

My favorites were the roasted duck and herbal prawns.

Spotlight Yarn Haul

I missed the knitting day sale but this new sale allows me 30% savings on yarn so I decided to buy the high-end stuff to make Christmas presents with. Some yarn balls come with knitting projects and even specify how much yarn is required for the design. I found Alpaca (hypoallergenic), Mohair (keeps warm on cold days and cool on warmer days) and Merino Wool (super soft) at Spotlight. I spent about S$200 after discounts. Going to check out Golden Dragon Store later and see what they have.

My first Blue Nile purchase is a petite byzantine bracelet in 14k gold, mainly because BlueNile gave me a USD$100 voucher to use. Maybe I can hang a charm off it. The website offers free shipping to Singapore on purchases above S$250. 

Single Knit Collar Scarf

This is a single knit scarf made from 1 skein of multi-colour yarn and a 35 peg loom. Took me about 4 days.

I chose a tight knit for multicolour yarn as the colours speak for itself. I made it wider than usual to double over, so the knit pattern shows up on both sides.

Using the same yarn to sew it over and into a loop. Everything measures up nicely, biggest advantage of using a loom is the even stitches.

It's a little curly around the edges but I guess that's because I am new at this. I am also thinking of adding maybe another half or one skein of yarn to make an adult sized circle scarf.

Versace Helicopter

Designed by Versace, built by Agusta Westland. The Versace helicopter comes in classic black and white with greek key detailing as seen on it's other collaborations. Seats 6 passengers.

Solar Cooker

I first saw this on Dirt Girl where she left a pizza in the solar cooker at the start of the day and settled down to a nice warm meal at the end of the day. This cute eco-friendly concept is already used in refugee camps. 

The pot of food is left in the solar cooker and heated with only solar energy on a clear sunny day without the use of fuel. It doesn't catch fire so it doesn't need to be watched and kids can run around it safely. Making it ideal for camping or temporary living in areas with no infrastructure.
