Ikea Shopping

I have a few photos & paintings to frame from my vacation and the first place to head to is Ikea. It's almost Christmas and star prints were everywhere, my mom got a star print frying pan for $12.90.

Pitstop at the Ikea Cafe for refreshments.

Swedish Meatballs are my favourite.

Then again, I think this is the only place serving Swedish food in Singapore.

Orange and white print mop for $5, Metal photo frame $19.90, Laundry Basket $6.90, Cappucino whipper $4.90, bath mat $2.50, tea towels $3.90, printed ziploc bags $5.90, how do they keep prices so low here?

Office D&D

The usual 10 course Chinese dinner at Shangri-la. Only difference is the theme "Rock Star" so we could come in jeans, tattoos and wierd accessories. Pairing rock music with chinese food may seem odd, but, something new is always welcome.

1 guy came as a giant Elvis head, just the head. They had hair and makeup people at the reception to transform everyone else into a star.

Guys and girls came in wigs of all colours. Not surprising as Halloween was just over. I really like the soft pink...hhmmm...

Soon, everything started looking like this. Time to go home =)

White Choc White Truffle Crumble

Having just returned from Europe, my fridge is bursting at the seams with chocolate. With the help of a miniature bottle of white truffle oil from the markets of Budapest and some Meiji milk, I made ganache. A simple starting point for a delicious dessert.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any apples and the dwarf honey pears were off limits. So I used what I could find, bananas and seedless grapes.

Dunking the chopped fruits in white chocolate & truffle ganache.

Arranging the fruits on the plate to create the base (or is it top) of my crumble.

Then crush shortbread cookies on top. It will re-freeze to form a brittle or giant choc bar.

Crack the brittle and serve with ice-cream and fresh whipped cream.
