10 things I Need these days

(1) Tiger Balm Plasters for pain relief and as a muscle relaxant, or any medicated sports plaster. Sometimes sitting in front of your computer creates stress on the shoulders and back, walking stresses out the legs and carrying groceries stresses out the arms. I prefer plasters to ointment as it doesn't stain the clothes and it stays on the spot you leave it at.

(2) Nin Jiom Herbal Candy for motion sickness and nausea. It's sold by the bottle as well, but I find candies easier to carry around and consume. I also prefer the original formula coz that's what works, not so sure about the new flavors like apple etc.

(3) Medicated Oil for tummy aches and pain relief. There are many brands of Chinese medicated oil available in the shops and its all hot/cold on the skin, although effects and scents are varied. The latest one I received is Yu Yee Oil that smells like nutmeg & paraffin glue.

(4)  Panadol pills for pain relief, its non-addictive and has no major side effects. There's a wide variety of forms you can buy this in like water soluble, minis etc. Good for headaches, cramps and just about any recurring pain.

(5) Anti-Bac Wet Wipes are essentials anytime I am inside or outside. It's an easy all-in-one coz with the spray or gel you still need to wipe it clean or leave it to dry.

(6) Redoxon Vitamin Effervescent Tablets that turn plain water into fizzy fruit juice, best part is you don't even need to stir it. I limit myself to one a day, it replaces fruit juice and multivitamins in my diet.

(7) Facial Masks, tissue & disposable. It's hydrating for the skin and also cooling after you've been out in the sun all day, in Singapore its almost everyday.

(8) Cotton Tips for spot cleaning and spot application, also good for cleaning out the ears. I use it with this audiclean product that can be found in local pharmacies.

(9) Sanitary Napkins/Adult Diapers. Adult diapers are sanitary pads + disposable underwear, its more expensive but for guys they really have no choice.

(10) Oxy pimple cream or what I am currently using is a Korean brand Onsaemeein Magic Solution Skin Powder (anti-pimple solution). It soothes inflammation, preventing redness and itchiness. It also dries up blood or pus.

Mooncakes for Mid-Autumn Festival

I know mid-autumn festival is on 1st October (just 2 more weeks away), the earliest order date for mooncakes is on 1st September (just 2 weeks ago). After checking out all of this years offerings, I went with Peony Jade a classic favorite of mine (teochew orh neh flaky crust mooncakes, no walnut mooncake bites this year) and Marmalade Pantry that comes in a bag with bamboo handles coz it looks like the 2018 KL Hilton brocade mooncake bags.

Peony Jade has the famous Orh Neh mooncakes in 4 different flavors this year. The newest addition is sweetpea with white lotus mixed with orh neh. No discounts here at all but there is free delivery for orders above $300 by OddleMe and they gave me a free porcelain tea set.

I also ordered a box of miniature snowskin assorted mooncakes including some liquor filled ones.

Marmalade Pantry is famous for its desserts, if you don't like mooncakes you should get some of their cupcakes that cost almost $10 each!

I bought the limited edition bag of mooncakes in assorted flavors.

Including a miniature bottle of sake and a tin of gold tea. Delivery also by OddleMe, my second free porcelain tea set.

I also ordered truffle burger with fries, no drinks coz I think the sake and tea leaves suffice.

Kin Moo

Kin Moo is a Thai eatery that comes highly recommended by FoodPanda and there is a stall @ Toa Payoh. My order for 2 people costs $46.50sgd.

I ordered basil minced meat with rice that came in a bento box. Rice is very mushy and not nice at all. Apart from basil there is also mint and chillis, very strong taste of mint, good stuff.

This place is famous for its Thai Wanton Noodles with radish soup, picture above, it's like a better version of regular wanton mee without sambal belachan. There is also Tom Yum Goong, not shown here, that was really delicious definitely one of the best we've tried.

Another item that comes highly recommended is deep fried Pork Collar with fish sauce. It's really sweet, think its the marinate, and it comes with chili sauce and chili powder. Definitely worth ordering from this place just for this dish.

Another Seafood Box

Found another seafood supplier and this one is actually all Japanese. Its got all the pickled vegetables found in Jap bento boxes as well as pre-marinated seafood commonly served as cold dish starters.

I bought pickled daikon in big slices (not soo common in Jap restaurants), pickled bamboo shoots (also not soo common) and pickled saba fish (this fish is usually grilled).

I also bought a serving size portion of shishamo or pregnant fish, my family loves this deep fried. And a large 2kg pack of marinated baby octopus, I am not really a fan but I have family members who really love it.

Sashimi grade stuff. Mekajiki or swordfish, a mixed portion means all parts of the fish. Same amount in salmon, double price for sashimi quality.

$40sgd for 1kg scallops and same for 1kg spiny lobster. I was expecting one huge lobster but its 3 pieces, haven't decided how to cook the lobster yet.
