Gold Silver Central

Lunch at Ta Lu Prawn Noodles place that is still packed with customers on weekday lunch hours. This eatery has changed location umpteenth times and is still located in this same area.

There is a place to buy silver, platinum and gold coins/bars in Singapore that is not Singapore Mint or the Bank. GoldSilverCentral carries a wide variety of bullion & bars from other countries like China and also a variety from International banks & MNCs. GSC.com.sg also has a live trading site, minimum $2000 in the registered trading account with them.

I bought some Britannia Silver Coins and had to make payment and collect from the GSC office at China Square Central. There is a Chinese Lunar Zodiac series in the HM Treasury, I got two 2017 roosters that will make nice keychains for a rustic countryside home, I think. And two more 2018 Britannia 1oz. They should really sell coin bezels here but its all coin boxes and plastic sleeves.

Finding coin bezels in Singapore is really difficult, it used to be sold at every goldsmith shop and now none carry these kind of things. I tried looking for keychain coin holders online and all I could find was a bulk order request form. International online stores that carry coin bezels and deliver to Singapore for a fee are Bezel.com, QualityGold.com, Sarraf.com.

I also found these large chains for sale on these websites, you cannot get anything wider than 10mm gold chain in Singapore. 20" works fine for the guys but as a girl I would want to get a shorter version. I've also seen 22mm curb link gold chain on Amazon.com and 22mm Foxtail gold chain on ebay.com.

24mm wide 10k cuban gold chain

I checked out the large gold chains in Singapore, all these branded versions come under $20,000 SGD for a necklace and bracelet set;

Fengshui World Store

The main Fengshui World store is at People's Park and there is one on the 1st floor and another on the 2nd floor. I went there to collect my $50 voucher for registering at the online auctions. No restrictions on the voucher but everything in the shop is really expensive. For example, macrame pandora bracelets are $100 online but at the shop its $250.

I bought the tiger eye zodiac pendant for $68 -$50 = $18, its supposed to be buy-1-get-1-free but I didn't want to argue with the sales girls. It's going to be made into mala prayer beads and I got the tiger eye beads from another shop.

This exact combination is from the auctioneer @ Fengshui World. 18mm bodhi wood beads bracelet and 8mm rosewood mala prayer beads necklace/bracelet. I chose this colour combination coz it looks like its the same wood tone. Both items can fit plus sizes.

Thai food for dinner! Watermelon cooler, boat noodles and stuffed chicken wings.

Beading Pearls ...

Time to renew my passport again and my ID photos got rejected twice. I take it at these photo booths located in the MRT stations. There is a small mirror on the side so you can check your appearance before taking photos but honestly its the most difficult thing to do. Or maybe there is something wrong with the perspex coz the photos always turn out a little odd.

SGmall is looking to hire SAs for pearls and pearl jewelry and I thought I might be interested to try it out. However, after stringing up some necklaces I was over it. I bought these strands of pearls from a wholesaler in China on a family holiday, its the biggest round white ones they had at 8mm in diameter.

These jades & pearls are from an old bracelet I had that recently broke apart. It's actually quite old, even at the time I bought it the shop people said it was old stock.

I put together this black bow necklace a few years ago and finally got round to adding on the clasp. It looks the same but is actually slightly different. I changed the blue sandstone to a smaller version and added in tapered onyx.

Also did up one more Lei, the last mother-of-pearl flower I have. I didn't even bother to restring the rutilated quartz bought from sgmall, I just added it in.

Trying out authentic Chinese food at People's Park Complex, I think this is the only eatery inside the shopping center. The two dishes look the same but its not, cumin beef and sichuan style bacon.

This is how my crystal pillar looks like now after the gifting season. I wear the strawberry crystal all the time at home, it does look like strawberry jam.

Presents & Presents

Legendary Strawberry Fresh Cream Cake from Chateraise, made from soy milk. It's soo soft and delicious!

I spent the festive season sick with the flu and found myself drinking ready made soups and tea cocktails. I have also discovered that adding cooking cream to everything makes it extra delicious.

The first present I received over Christmas is 3INA cosmetics, that I thought was a Korean brand as it turns out its actually a vegan European brand. It's a massive 15ml tube of green coloured mascara, usually mascaras are 1.5ml or something like that. And a tube of argan & jojoba lip oil balm with a new type sponge applicator.

The Christmas edition LuLuLun facial masks, featuring Fir Tree extract! Cannot wait to try that out. This one box contains a whopping 28 pieces of facial masks in resealable packets.

Dr Wu facial masks, this is a 2 piece pack for both neck and face. Dr Wu stuff are pricier and meant to replicate salon treatments. So I am kinda excited about trying this out.

Nespresso coffee capsule refills, practical and much appreciated.

The little boys bought me this oil painting from Cambodia, they were there on a mission trip just before Christmas.

Rendang, crispy bread and fried chicken wings for New Years, keeping it local this year.
