Hello Dolly Toolkits

Obviously, this is one for the girls. No one will dare use your pink hammer or shovel. I even received more vouchers with my discounted purchases, courtesy of Reebonz.

Unveiling the surprise, these matte black + shiny pink boxes carried silicon handle, brushed alum tools in the sweetest shade of pink.

It's good to know now I have an entirely co-ordinated set of gloves, 30 piece toolkit and gardening equipment to fall back on.

Buy from http://www.glamourpuss.com.sg/products/Hello-Dolly.htm?gclid=CNL97JOcxqUCFcZ56wodX3_QYw or enter Her World's December issue contest to try and win 1.

Bodum Pavina Glasses

I was ordering the Christmas Turkey and Ham from Cold Storage when the cashier offered me Bodum's double wall glasses as purchase with purchase. I didn't need much more convincing to cart home as many as I was allowed to buy.

As a keen follower of good design, I have been eyeing Bodum's Pavina range of double wall glasses since launch day. Pavina is much lighter and tougher than ordinary glass. Designed to keep the cold or hot in and your hands at room temperature through it's double wall design. The silicon covered hole underneath allows for self moderation during sudden temperature fluctuations, so it can moonlight as cookware. Microwave and dishwasher friendly means low maintainence. Do you really need more reasons?

I intend to use the little ones for tea or sauces, mid-sized ones for daily drinking or soup and large ones for cocktails and beer.

Broken Nail

My nail snapped into 2 and started bleeding as I was shoving christmas presents into carriers. So I had to put a band-aid around it. My favourite brand is Nexcare's waterproof tattoo cartoon print bandages made by 3M.

Mobile Lines

All my friends probably know this story of my mobile lines by now.

I bought a new phone and a new mobile line last Sunday from Singtel Hello shop because for some reason, my last mobile which was purchased under a corporate plan, was registered in my previous company's name. So I had to apply concurrently for the line to be transferred to my name before I can cancel it.

This new line was great, until Monday when I started receiving notifications of subscriptions etc. When I called Singtel, they told me the line was still registered under some male stranger's name. It's probably the previous owner of the line and will take 3-5 working days to get registered under my name.

Since I can't use my new mobile phone and line now, I sent it to Gmask for a makeover (another story I will post on later).

Then my backup phone battery died on me and I realized I couldn't find my charger anywhere. I dialled my sis in horror to check if she had a charger I could borrow as we keep similar makes of Samsung mobile phones as backup. She didn't. Where did all the chargers go?

We dialled SOS to our dad (a former Singtel engineer) to get us a charger. Which he did after much sorting and searching. And I managed to charge my phone, juggling 2 phone lines.

And I finally got to download these 30th birthday cake pictures onto my computer.

GMASK

I have been meaning to do this for a while. So when I saw the Reebonz City offer to hot wrap my phone, I decided to give my battered backup mobile a makeover with a yakuza tattoo skin and swarovski crystals.

The new skin is wrapped around my phone twice to ensure the vivid colours of the print come through. Then the swarovski crystals are glued on. A piece of tape goes over the crystals to protect them while they dry. That's me peeling off the bandages the next morning.

I really like the end result, should have done this sooner. Thinking of sending my new mobile for a makeover as well.

My Birthday!

My birthday lunch. It was almost noon and too early for La Strada's lunchtime. So I had my favourite mekajiki sashimi, snow crab and uni bento from Isetan supermarket.

Ignore the warnings that fish contains mercury!

Then on to collect my sacher cake from Cova Patisserie. Busy lunchtime crowd, the counter staff had trouble finding my cake amidst at least a dozen cakes on display.

1 more stop before heading home to collect my 7 piece cookware set from WMF concept store at Takashimaya. Soo heavy!

When I got home, I found out I had won a bottle of Glucosamine vitamins from 21st Century. It's as though they know it's my birthday.

Picked up the vitamins on our way out to dinner. Re-gifted to the driver.

Dinner at swatow restaurant as requested by my parents.
